Celebrating Children Workbook (Part 6): Child Protection and Helping Traumatized Children
This workbook presents 15 lessons that will introduce the student to the fundamental information necessary for organizations to meet their responsibilities for the protection of children. The lessons cover basic principles and processes, but for a full understanding of any lesson, the reader is encouraged to study the resources listed in the bibliography, especially the Keeping Children Safe training resources.
Some lessons are focused on basic concepts and applicable to all staff, volunteers and managers in organizations; other lessons introduce some of the systems and policies that organizations or ministries need to put in place to keep children safe. While some of these lessons focus more on the responsibilities of managers, it is helpful for staff and volunteers to understand all the lessons so that they can protect children in their own work responsibilities, while also supporting the overall organization or ministry in its child protection efforts.
