Barriers against child sex tourism: Summary report

Children have the right to protection against sexual violence. The Dutch Government must therefore endeavour to prevent Dutch nationals from committing sexual offences against children in other countries, as well as in the Netherlands. That is the key message of the Dutch Rapporteur on Trafficking in Human Beings and Sexual Violence against Children in her report Barriers against child sex tourism. In order to improve the fight against child sex tourism Rapporteur Corinne Dettmeijer provides six recommendations, focusing on the prevention of child sex tourism and the detection and prosecution of Dutch citizens committing sexual offences against minors abroad.
