Migration Politics that Kill: How governments exacerbate human trafficking
This webinar explored how anti-trafficking narratives are weaponized globally to justify denying asylum and protection from modern slavery and instead increasing migrants’ vulnerability to trafficking, exploitation, and death. The panelists were Mario Bruzzone, Sophie Cartwright, and Francesca Humi. They discussed the risks of current anti-migration policies, the problem with conflating anti-migration with anti-trafficking, and recommendations for possible solutions.
