Demand Side of Human Trafficking in Asia: Empirical Findings

Thus far, most of the studies on human trafficking have focused on the push factor of trafficking. This report examines the demand of human trafficking including consumer demand, employer demand, and household demand. The countries examined are Bangladesh, Pakistan, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, and Nepal; the manifestation of trafficking included in this report are domestic labor, commercial sexual exploitation, fireworks production, organized begging, and child soldiers.
