The Senate Finance Committee held a hearing entitled: Fighting Forced Labor: Closing Loopholes and Improving Customs Enforcement to Mandate Clean Supply Chains and Protect Workers.  The United Steel Workers, Human Trafficking Legal Center, United States Fashion Industry Association, and Sourcemap were witnesses at the hearing.

Ron Wyden stated that: The United States is a country with a lot of economic and political muscle. The country should use that muscle to fight for American jobs and workers. It should also use it, whenever possible, to improve the lives of powerless people around the world. It’s not every day you have an opportunity to talk about accomplishing both of those goals at once.
