Human Trafficking in Japan: A Case Study on the Technical Intern Training Program
This papers examines the role of culture and structure of society on its influence of the rise of human trafficking in Japan, specifically in relation to the “Technical Intern Training Program”. This thesis essentially answers two questions: to what extent does the TITP amount to conditions human trafficking and forced labor? And how, to what extent, are Japanese socio-cultural trends and migration laws influencing the prevalence of human trafficking in Japan?
