印度人口販運現況
首先，強迫勞動（forced labor）構成印度人口販運最主要的問題（trafficking problem），其中以童工（child labor）與女性遭受性販賣（sex trafficking）兩項最 為嚴重。強迫勞動的主要根源之一是所謂的奴工（Bonded Labor），指因積欠債務 或繼承上一代債務而遭受奴役的男性、女性和兒童，被迫勞動於如環境欠佳的磚 窯廠、碾米廠、刺繡工廠等行業中，據估計，全印度目前從事性工作以維持家庭 生計的女性約 200 萬人；加上近年有關奴工與性交易的人口走私事件有增無減， 每年都有數千印度人自願非法進入中東、歐洲和美國，從事家庭傭人及低技術勞 工的工作，已使印度成為人口販運中，強迫勞動和性販運的來源地、目的地以及 中轉地。
