Trafficking, Sexual Exploitation, and Prostitution of Women and Girls in Iraq
This report, published in 2010 by the Norwegian Church Aid in conjunction with several Iraqi organizations dedicated to women and girls, highlights the ways in which women and girls are trafficked in the area, with a focus on sexual exploitation. The report uses regional conferences, individual interviews, and NGO consultations in order to gather information on sex trafficking and sexual exploitation in Iraq. Special attention is given to the status of women and girls in Iraq before and after the war began in 2003. The report ultimately produces recommendations that include legislative, policy, security, and preventative measures for women. While this report is 7 years old, it provides a detailed background on the human trafficking in Iraq during conflict.
