Migration in East Asia is rather complex, because of that it becomes a challenge to conclude how much of the migration flow is human trafficking. In this paper, the author examines the general trends in human trafficking reported in East Asia from rather disparate sources, identify the main issues and problems raised in the existing information sources, and discuss data collection, research activities, and knowledge gaps.
