This report focuses on the human trafficking and smuggling of migrants in the context of mixed migration flows in the IGAD Region. The content for this paper is organized in four parts: Part 1 provides a general overview of the regional context with regard to mixed migration flows and human trafficking in particular; Part 2 provides a summary on IGAD countries, their challenges and response; Part 3 discusses key migration issues in the region; and Part 4 provides recommendations on trafficking and smuggling of migrants based on the IGAD Regional Migration Policy Framework. Country profiles on Djibouti, Ethiopia, Kenya, South Sudan, Somalia, Sudan and Uganda are annexed to the report.
