Ghana’s Human Trafficking Act: Successes and Shortcomings in Six Years of Implementation
Ghana’s Human Trafficking Act was enacted on December 5, 2005, to address human trafficking activity within, to, from and through Ghana. Although the Act appears to address the primary concerns regarding human trafficking, this paper seeks to establish whether it adequately addresses the Ghanaian human trafficking problem, in practice, six years subsequent to the Act’s passage into law. It assesses the implementation and efficacy of the Act.
