The overall objective of this research is to produce a report of human trafficking for labour purposes from Ethipia to other countries, with particular emphasis on domestic workers trafficked to the Middle East. Thus, the study explores the situation, process, and impact of human trafficking for a better understanding of the profile of victims and traffickers; the push and pull factors; the expectations and perceptions of victims and families; the causes and consequences; the trafficking routes and processes; the techniques and trends in the operation of traffickers; and the nature of exploitation victims face. It also explores the policy and legal framework; the strength and gaps in existing responses to combat human traffiking; the collaboration and coordination efforts in the operation of key stakeholders; and the role of the community, the governmental and non-governmental organizations, and the international community to address the problem to finally come up with recommendable measures to effectively combat human trafficking for labour purposes.
