This paper seeks to provide an in-depth understanding of the phenomenon of human trafficking, its causes and consequences while trying to draw out suggestions and recommendations which could contribute to better strengthen the West African regional security framework. Essentially, the paper concludes that governence in West Africa needs to be transformed into an effective cooperative framework where enhancing the dignity of human beings and their rights becomes a priority.
